Meeting with cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping

On September 1^st 2020 the team members of the Northern Convoys International Centre held a meeting with the first year cadets of the College of Admiral Makarov State University. During the meeting Vladimir Solomonov, director of  “NCIC” Foundation and Sergey Kurbatov, conservator of the Northern Convoys Museum, told the cadets about the project “Memorial Complex “Northern Convoys”, those steps of its realization that have already been accomplished, and the plans for the future. Memorial Complex “Northern Convoys” is dedicated to the Northern (Arctic) convoys as a heroic page in the history of WWII and is being created in the College of Admiral Makarov State University around the already existing Arctic Convoy Monument.

The Complex will include:

• Memorial Museum of the Northern Convoys History
• Open Air Museum
• The Northern Convoys Public Garden with artistic grate and the Alley of Heroes
• The chapel in honor of all the deceased Northern convoys’ participants
• An important part of the Complex will be the Club of historic reenactment “Special purpose Arctic squad”

The International Centre invites cadets to actively participate in the projects dedicated to the Northern Convoys!
