12.05.2020

Despite the self-isolation regime introduced in our country, the Northern сonvoys International Centre continues its work. The Centre’s team works remotely, using the on-trend platforms for video conferencing.

On May 11th, a video conference was held with the participation of the team of International Centre and students of St. Petersburg State University. Among the participants also were the students’ supervisor, candidate of historical sciences Elena Elts, leading researcher at the Ethnography Department of Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova of the Russian Museum of Ethnography Elena Dyakova, and our USA volunteer Tamara Muravitskaya.

Students Elena Ryumina, Daria Kaplunova, Irina Bashmachenkova, Margarita Nikolaeva and Ksenia Kolesova presented the results of their work on a research project within the framework of cooperation between the “NCIC” Foundation and the Department of International Humanitarian Relations of St. Petersburg State University.

Our colleague from the Russian Museum of Ethnography shared valuable experience in the field of international communication on museum activities.

Tamara Muravitskaya told about her visit to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, known for its history, collection and scientific work. During her visit, she handed to representatives of the Museum booklets about the Northern convoys Museum created in St. Petersburg.

The Northern convoys International Centre thanks all the participants of the video conference for their work, valuable information and contribution to implementing the most important project “Memorial Museum of the Northern convoys History”.

We look forward to further cooperation and waiting for students to continue our joint work during their Master’s degree course!
