August 31, 2023 is the opening of an exhibition on the Northern Convoys!

Dear friends!

Very soon the exhibition "Allied (Northern) Convoys and Lend-Lease 1941-1945" will start its work. The exhibition is held with the participation of the Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic and with the support of the "History of Russia" Foundation and the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs.

The exhibition "Allied (Northern) Convoys and Lend-Lease 1941-1945" will be based on the collections of the Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic and the "Northern Convoys International Centre" Foundation - more than 150 rare and unique artifacts, most of them from the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War.

Thus, one of the large artifacts presented at the exhibition is a lifeboat compass of the Liberty type ship of 1942. During World War II such ships were massively built in the USA for transportation of Lend-Lease cargoes.

The special value of the exhibition is represented by unique exhibits gifted to the International Northern Convoys International Centre by the families of veterans: these are documents, personal belongings, awards.

The exhibition will give every visitor an opportunity to discover a unique part of our country's history - the Allied convoys of 1941-1945, and the Northern Convoys as their most tragic, but full of courage and determination to achieve Victory page.

The exhibition "Allied (Northern) Convoys and Lend-Lease 1941-1945" will be open to the public from 16:00 on August 31st to November 15th, 2023 inclusive.
