On the 25th of May at the Central Naval Library of Saint-Petersburg a personal exhibition of artistic works "Maritime Art of the Russian Submarine Fleet in various genres" was opened. The author of works is Igor Kravtsov - marine artist, writer, captain of the First Rank of the reserve. The exhibition is timed to the 60th anniversary of the artist.
Igor Kravtsov - in the past the commander of the Northern Fleet`s nuclear submarine. The exhibition includes works of different genres of marine art. Severe and difficult submarine service is familiar to the artist not by hearsay, and not from the pictures of glossy magazines. His many years of service, keeping watches on the bridge of a submarine, practice of sailing and technical diving in different seas of the planet allow him to depict the sea, the underwater environment and the animal world surrounding the submarine correctly and precisely. Igor Kravtsov is the author of publications on sailing affairs as well as the books "Three Lives of a Ship" and "The Legendary Pikes of Ismail Zaidulin". Several of his artistic works were at various times accepted into the collection of the Central Naval Museum in St. Petersburg.
Artists, friends and colleagues of the artist, veterans of the Navy and the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan were invited to the opening ceremony.
International Centre of Northern Convoys has long and productively cooperated with the artist, in particular, Igor Kravtsov became a Grand Prix winner of the First International Competition "Together We Are the World"! At the grand opening of the exhibition on May 25, Vladimir Solomonov, director of the International Centre, awarded the artist with a medal for participating in the contest.
The International Center congratulates Igor Kravtsov on his anniversary and wishes him new heights and success in his art!
