"The Northern Convoys International Centre" Foundation (St. Petersburg, Russia) is happy to invite museums and artists from different countries to participate in the International Virtual Exhibition «One Equal Temper of Heroic Hearts...». The tale of sacrifice and courage of the 1941-1945 Northern Convoys through Art.
The exhibition will feature digital copies of works of art (paintings and drawings), united by the common theme of "The History of the Northern Convoys 1941-1945" and is scheduled to open on August 31st, 2022 to mark the anniversary of the arrival of the first Allied convoy "Dervish" in Arkhangelsk in 1941.
The exhibition is being organized jointly by the Northern Convoys International Centre and the Northern Maritime Museum (Arkhangelsk, Russia).
The aim of the exhibition is to draw attention to the aesthetic and historical significance of works of art in the study of the history of the Northern Convoys. Through the artists' works, which often convey the very nuances of real events of the war at sea, naval battles, alliance and joint struggle, we want to present to the public the symbols and values which united the peoples of the USSR and other countries for the sake of victory, and to trace possible trends and changes in these symbols and values over time and with the succession of generations.
