The International Centre took part in the meeting of the Association of Leading Universities

On 30 May 2025, the Northern Convoys International Centre took part in an online meeting of the Association of Federal Universities, National Research Universities, Lomonosov Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The meeting was opened by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Next, Elena Malysheva, head of the National Centre for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation, presented a report on ‘Historical memory of the Great Patriotic War: main priorities.’

Representatives of leading universities in St. Petersburg, Kazan, North Caucasus and Southern Federal Universities highlighted the contribution of university science and universities to Victory in the Great Patriotic War in their reports.

In the section ‘Historiography of the Great Patriotic War, its results, preservation of the memory of the events of the Great Patriotic War in scientific research, scientific publications, scientific and educational literature,’  representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Immanuel Kant Federal University, the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Tomsk State University took part with reports.

Vladimir Solomonov, Director of the Northern Convoys International Centre, spoke about the foundation's experience of cooperation with higher education institutions, about the foundation's successful method of educational activity - organising exhibitions in universities, and also gave examples of interaction between the foundation and the student community. One of the most productive examples of this cooperation has been our long-standing collaboration with the Department of International Humanitarian Relations at St. Petersburg State University. Part of the report by the director of the "NCIC" Foundation was devoted to this cooperation.
