The International Centre took part in bachelor’s and master’s thesis defenses

On June 10 and 11, 2025, bachelor’s thesis defenses and master’s thesis defenses in the field of “International Relations” took place at the Faculty of International Relations of Saint Petersburg State University. The “Northern Convoys International Centre” Foundation participated as a member of the State Examination Commissions.

In their graduation theses, bachelor’s students addressed a range of interesting and important topics in the field of international relations. For example, they explored such instruments of international dialogue as dance, sports, art exhibitions, fashion, and theater, examining the experience of their use by different countries and the prospects for their application in Russia. Issues of foreign policy image and the particularities of “soft power” in international relations by countries such as Japan, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, and others were discussed. Some students dedicated their research to complex topics such as territorial branding strategies and social-status equality.

The master’s dissertations were conducted at a high research level. These works examined, for example, Russian-Chinese cooperation in the Arctic and in tourism, Russia’s cooperation in higher education and culture with Iran, France, and the DPRK. There were also complex and interesting studies on the volunteer movement, as well as musical and gastronomic diplomacy. Importantly, the master’s students set and successfully solved research tasks such as studying the Crimean Tatar diaspora in Russia and Turkey, the situation of the Russian-speaking minority in Latvia, and issues related to the formation of cultural identity in different states.

All bachelor’s and master’s theses received high marks.

The “NCIC” Foundation expresses its gratitude to the Faculty of International Relations of Saint Petersburg State University and our colleagues from the Department of International Humanitarian Relations for the invitation to participate in the State Examination Commissions!

We also congratulate the students on their successful defenses, the awarding of their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and wish them success in their future academic and professional endeavors.
