The conference ‘Allied (Northern) Convoys and Lend-Lease 1941-1945’ was held in Severodvinsk

The scientific and practical conference ‘Allied (Northern) Convoys and Lend-Lease 1941-1945’ was organised by the information-technological career guidance centre ‘Pogruzhenie’ of PO Sevmash and was held on 23 April 2025 in the House of Technology in Severodvinsk.

The participants of the conference were researchers, historians, scientists, and museum specialists from Severodvinsk, St. Petersburg, and Arkhangelsk.

The reports of the participants covered the topics of participation of fishermen and sea cadets in the Northern Convoys of the Great Patriotic War, work of Severodvinsk factories to gain the Victory, preservation of historical memory about the Northern Convoys and the Great Patriotic War, memorial events dedicated to the heroes of convoy operations, etc.

Vladimir Solomonov, Director of the Northern Convoys International Centre, presented in his report the results and prospects of our Foundation's activities aimed at commemorating the heroism of the participants of the Northern Convoys and patriotic education of the younger generation.

In the course of the conference the Foundation presented its gratitude to the management of PO "Sevmash" and the career guidance centre ‘Pogruzhenie’ for cooperation and contribution to the preservation of the memory of the Northern Convoys of 1941-1945. In response the Director and staff of the Foundation were presented with letters of gratitude signed by the Director General of Sevmash.

We sincerely hope for the continuation of cooperation between our organisations and joint efforts to commemorate the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War!
